ST. PAUL'S CATHEDRAL TOUR

St Paul's Cathedral stands as a testament to the genius of its architect, Sir Christopher Wren, who rebuilt London's cathedral after the devastating Great Fire of 1666. It is the first time in history that a cathedral was completed in the lifetime of its architect. Westminster Abbey serves as the royal cathedral and St Paul's Cathedral as the national cathedral; that's an unofficial definition but a useful way of thinking about the difference between the two.

  • The style of architecture is English Baroque, the tour will show you how Wren's mathematical and aesthetic genius worked together to create such an iconic structure.

  • You can climb up to the Whispering Gallery and stand directly beneath the world's second largest cathedral dome

  • You can climb further inside the dome to the very top, 356' above London.

  • The tombs of Britain's two nineteenth century military heroes, the Duke of Wellington and Vice Admiral Horatio Nelson, victors and the Battles of Waterloo and Trafalgar respectively, are in the crypt.
